Walking in High Park

Last time I talked about High Park I showed the difference between Winter and Spring and talked a little about the Zoo they have there.

But if there is one thing that I found out about Toronto is that when you start to look at something and find one interesting thing about it, you realise that there are many more things yet to discover.

And this is what happens with High Park.

We already knew about  the Grenadier Cafe that it’s open all year round. In winter you can sit there, enjoying a good apple pie, or a breakfast  at any time of the day.I must explain that I’m not talking about  the toast and coffee that is the regular breakfast back home, but the full bacon, eggs, pancakes and the like.Delicious!

But in summer they have this wonderful patio where you can enjoy your meal while surround by the park and all the colors that the flowers and trees bring to it.Also , if you’re into books  you can spend a wonderful time there drinking your favorite beverage and reading.

If you’re really a nature lover you have a long lawn where you can lay down, play, do your picnic or just enjoy the scenery.

If you go further you can walk along Grenadier Pound. In the winter it friezes and you can see people crossing it by foot but in the Summer is just a lovely pound where the reflection of the sun in the water warms also your soul.

And, of course, in the park  you have the staple of Canada, the Maple Leaf:

There is much more to talk about this and other things at High Park but for now I’ll leave you with some more pictures. Hope you have a wonderful (long at least in Canada) weekend.

Oooh, High Park looks amazing. The very first and last photos actually remind me of the Japanese Botanical Gardens I recently visited in Portland, though the rest of your pictures look quite different. I love the shot of looking out at the pond from beneath the tree. Gorgeous. The cafe sounds delish, too.

Kari- The place where I took the photos you’re refering to really looks like a japanese garden. Diferent parts of High Park make you think in diferent countrys, actually. I’ll hve to reseach if this was done on purpose.
