Sunnyside Park

Along Lake Ontario there are several parks. This weekend we visited the Sunnyside Pa rk ,meaning the area between Etobicoke and downtown Toronto. This area also is known by the name of the Western Beaches.

When you arrive there you think you landed in a sports only area for there were many people in bikes, roller skates, running, and on the lake you can see the Dragon boat teams rowing. You also have various equipment where you can exercise , a boardwalk where you can walk by the lake to your heart content, an Olympic-sized swimming pool and two children’s wading pools with fountains.

But that it’s not so.You also have several in-park commercial eateries, including a barbecue shack and a pizza kiosk known to sold the most delicious custard cones.

And of course, the  lovely Sunnyside Beach with it’s old fashion Sunnyside Bathing Pavilion that is usually open for you to visit the inner patio(not available when we went because there was a stage being set there). And right next to the sand a Coffe House where you can appreciate the sun and a nice coffee while you comtemplate the beach and the lake.

And for those of you who travel with children there are also several playgrounds one of them featuring two concrete dinosaurs.

That’s where I took the picture I’ve showned :

Toronto has many interesting places to visit, and I’ll keep sharing them with you.

Have a nice week.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Toronto. I was a summer exchange student back in Jr High. So long long time ago. I enjoy seeing these new pictures now.
